Today, we’re excited to launch and announce Outpatient App 3.0 – a major step forward in our mission to modernize healthcare operations across the Department of War and US Air Force military medical readiness programs.
This release is focused on three things that matter most to our partners:
readiness visibility, operational control, and intelligent automation.
Strengthening Readiness Visibility
Outpatient 3.0 introduces new capabilities that give medical teams a clearer, more actionable view of Service Member readiness.
- Dental Readiness Classification Tracking
We’ve added the ability to store and track Dental Readiness Classification status for all Service Members – fully tied to their Readiness Dental appointment history. This creates a persistent, auditable record that improves both compliance and operational awareness.
Giving Medical Readiness Teams More Control
We heard consistently from medical staff: they need more MTF-specific control over customizing features.
This release delivers exactly that.
- Custom Appointment Communications (No Code Required)
MTF administrators can now configure on-demand, patient-facing SMS and email communications – appointment confirmations and rejections – directly within the Base Management interface. - Message Previews for Staff
Medical teams can now preview exactly what Service Members will see before sending communications, reducing errors and improving clarity. - Custom One-Way Messaging
Staff can send tailored, no-reply text messages to Service Members who have requested or confirmed readiness appointments – enabling faster coordination without adding communication overhead.
Delivering Customer-Driven Enhancements
Outpatient 3.0 includes targeted improvements developed in close partnership with active installations.
- Advanced Data Export for Readiness Scheduling
Built in collaboration with Travis AFB, this feature enables easier data analysis and system reconciliation across Outpatient App, MHS GENESIS, ASIMS, and other readiness systems. - Improved Scheduling Controls for Continuous Medical Readiness Day Requests
Service Members can no longer submit multiple overlapping CMR requests – ensuring cleaner workflows and reducing administrative burden. - Expanded SHPE Appointment Support
SHPE appointments are now fully activated for RISS/MedChalk workflows - Support for Air Force Reserve Operations
We’ve activated and enabled new Reserves modules, providing more efficient readiness scheduling for Reserve components.
Introducing Frontier Automation with Outpatient AI Assist
This release also marks a major leap forward in intelligent automation.
- Voice-Enabled Scheduling with Real-Time Syncing
Outpatient AI Assist now includes outbound calling and real-time calendar synchronization – fully automating readiness scheduling workflows for RISS/MedChalk environments.
This reduces manual coordination, eliminates scheduling lag, and moves toward a fully autonomous front door for readiness operations.
Investing in Secure, Scalable Infrastructure
Behind the scenes, we’ve continued to streamline performance and access.
- Okta/ILZ Integration for RISS Appointment Requests
By integrating with Okta/ILZ sign-on, we’ve reduced manual data entry in RISS by up to 95% – improving speed, accuracy, and user experience for Service Members.
Why This Release Matters
Outpatient App 3.0 is not just a set of features – it’s a shift toward more autonomous, data-driven readiness operations.
With this release, MTFs can:
- Increase readiness visibility across populations
- Reduce administrative overhead for medical staff
- Improve scheduling accuracy and throughput
- Accelerate adoption through better user experiences
- Move closer to fully automated readiness workflows
Looking Ahead
We’re continuing to invest in deeper automation, tighter system integrations, and expanded support across military healthcare environments.
Outpatient is building the infrastructure for the future of readiness – and 3.0 is a major step forward.
